The Hinge System 3000 mortises for door hinges quickly and with dependable accuracy. The strong yet lightweight unit attaches easily to doors without marring: No measuring is required for back sets, hinge size, or even cutting depth. Back sets are determined by clearly labeled shims that drop into the top of the template holders. Interchangeable templates screw on and off quickly. DoorTech’/s breakthrough depth control system automatically adjusts the depth of cut when you change templates;/ no router adjustment is required.
- Maximum door thickness is 2-1/4”.
- Quick change from right- to left-hand doors.
- Templates for all of the standard hinge sizes and thicknesses are available (see list below).
- Hinge mortise depth is determined by template thickness so no adjustment in the router depth is necessary when changing templates.
- Hinge spacing may be measured by hand or set precisely with custom setup bars. Setup bars index the hinge routing fixtures and door end stops for perfect match to standard metal door frames.
- Maximum door length with the standard bar is 9 feet.
- Shoulders for 3° beveled edge and square edged doors are provided.
- Template holders easily slide on uni-strut which makes adjustments simple.

What makes our templates so durable?
Phenolic templates are a hard, dense material produced by applying heat and pressure to layers of linen or canvas impregnated with a synthetic resin. As the heat and pressure are applied, polymerization creates a strong, durable and mechanically stable composite that won’t shrink or warp, and offers excellent impact strength.
